Bank of China Tower is one of the buildings is recognized as the world's tallest at Hong Kong Center. This building is the headquarters of Bank of China (Hong Kong).
The building was designed architect IMPei, 315m high, if the two towers are 369m tall building. Built in 1989, the building has 70 floors and is located near the central metro station. This building was the tallest building in Hong Kong and Asia from 1989 to 1992. This is also the first building outside the United States exceed the height 1000foot. This also means this is the tallest building outside the United States since it was completed in 1990. Currently Bank of China Tower is the 3rd tallest building in Hong Kong, after Two International Finance Center building, and Central Plaza.
Expressionism is structured into the design of the building with pictures of bamboo rose, symbolizing prosperity and vitality. The entire structure is assisted by five steel columns at each corner of the building with a triangular frame transfer the weight of the structure up in this column. Some have criticized feng shui architecture of the building and sharp images in countless X original design is not good, though Pei modified the design by the advice he has been before the courts the house was built.
There is a small terrace to observe the 43th floor of the building is open to the public, but to visit the main terrace at 70 stories is permitted only when there is an appointment. The main address of the building is 1 Garden Road, Central, Hong Kong.
